Service Description

Somatic Studies for the Performing Artist Workshop series - Ep.1 Feldenkrais Mind Body Studies with Juliano Vendemiatti Saturday, 22 November 2025 Time Window – Teilingerstraat 120, 3032 AW, Rotterdam 09:00–12:00 (doors open at 08:30 — please arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in) About the Workshop This morning session is a movement-based class grounded in the studies of Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais, with a practical focus on how you move, sense, and organize yourself as an artist. We will spend most of the time lying or sitting on the floor, exploring gentle, structured movement sequences. These lessons are designed to help you: - Notice movement habits and body patterns that may limit ease or expression - Create additional pathways for action, not just “better posture” - Refine trajectories and timing using the principle of reversibility (being able to move in any direction at any moment) - Work with ease rather than effort, cultivating clarity instead of strain - Explore the movement of the eyes and their coordination with the whole body - Improve self-image and proprioception, so you have a clearer internal map of yourself in motion - Begin or deepen your own ongoing practice, taking ideas from the workshop into rehearsal, performance, and daily life Throughout the class, Juliano will guide you step by step, offering time to sense, rest, and integrate between movements. Short reflections and questions are welcome, so you can better understand how the material applies to your own artistic context. The work is rooted in Juliano’s long-term study with Mia Segal (Dr. Feldenkrais’s first and only assistant for 16 years) and influenced by Brazilian dancer and researcher José Maria Carvalho. Their lineages inform the clarity and depth of the lessons, but the emphasis of this workshop is simple and direct: to help you move with more ease, precision, and presence, in a way you can feel immediately and continue to develop over time. What to Bring Wear comfortable, warm clothing that allows you to move freely (no jeans or belts). Bring socks and extra layers to ensure comfort throughout the session. About Juliano Juliano Vendemiatti is a Brazilian musician, dancer, and somatic educator based in Delft. Trained as a Feldenkrais Master Practitioner with Mia Segal, he integrates movement, attention, and sensory refinement to support performing artists in moving with more ease, clarity, and creative presence.
